Initially, the app does feel good, though I’ll try and share feedback after a month’s use. Hence, I decided to install the CARROT Weather app. I have been using AccuWeather for a long however, I thought of giving a try to a new app. Having said these, the app can surely give you a timely alert on weather and help you plan your day or take precautions wisely.ĭownload Here are our top 8 weather apps for your Apple Watch The app’s intuitive interface lets you pinch in and out to have more transparent and accurate information. It displays severe thunderstorms, tornados, flash floods, snow squall warnings, and special marine alerts issued by U.S. Zoom out on the map to see all the saved cities you have added. The application is ranked at number 3 in the App Store’s weather category. Tapping on the radar, you can switch between a temperature heat map, a precipitation map and an air quality map using the layer icon at the top-right. Just tap on any of the widgets in the list to see a pop-up window with more information. You can still get detailed graphs and radar in Apple Weather, though. Apple’s app offers a lot of options for visualizing the weather, even if it isn’t fully customizable. Unfortunately, you can’t get any more granular than that. Make sure you have Severe Weather and Next-Hour Precipitation enabled for any location you want alerts for. Go to Weather, tap the menu in the bottom-right, tap the ⋯ in the top-right and tap Notifications. Apple’s Weather app delivers precipitation warnings, but with fewer options than Carrot Weather. If subscriptions aren’t your style, you can kick back with Apple’s Weather app, which comes free on your device ( now including the Mac and the iPad!). You’ll need to accept a bunch of pop-ups to allow notifications and background location tracking as you make your desired changes. ![]() While the stock Apple Weather app only offers a few switches you can turn on or off completely, with Carrot Weather, you can get exactly what you want. While you’re at it, you might want to configure those notifications. You can heavily customize the weather notifications to your preference. This will replicate the tab bar arrangement of Dark Sky. Tap − and Delete to remove Location, tap + to add the Notifications tab, delete the Carrot tab and drag Settings down to the bottom. Then, go back to Settings > Layout > Arrange Tab Bar. Reorder your tabs to match the look of Dark Sky if you want to go the extra mile. Give it a name (like DarkCarrot) and tap OK. All of these are, shall we say, inspired by the late Dark Sky weather app. Next, go to Settings > Layout > Layout Gallery and pick from several Inline layouts. Choose the Inline layout to set it up a la Dark Sky. ![]()
